North Peak Resources

(TSXV-NPR; OTCQB-NPRLF)

North Peak Resources is one of the more unique exploration stories in metals I have ever covered or visited.

It’s common especially these days with the higher gold (primarily) price of the recent past to take many “old” projects out of mothballs, repurpose them and/or rework old dump piles and tailings and be able to make some money.

Maybe even reopen a mine whose only “fault” was that the price for gold, etc. wasn’t quite high enough before to be economical.

But North Peak’s Prospect Mountain complex—in the storied Eureka Mining District in central Nevada—is something beyond this: a major project “frozen in time” as I have put it.

On that latter, the grandfather of my friend Ari Erickson (with me in the photo below during my recent visit to Nevada) held this project for a few decades, though virtually nothing in the way of modern exploration, development or mining was taking place.

Meanwhile, all around the Erickson family’s Prospect Mountain, there’s been a LOT going on!

As you see below, North Peak’s Prospect Mountain is surrounded by two very substantial companies and stories in their own right: McEwen Mining and i80 Gold.

Each of them has had massive exploration/development success in their parts of the Eureka Trend; and as many of us have long believed, it’s now time for the Prospect Mountain complex to catch up.

In the hopes of making that a reality, the Erickson family vended Prospect Mountain (though retaining a healthy chunk of North Peak shares in the process) to seasoned, successful management led by Harry Dobson (Chairman) and Rupert Williams (C.E.O.)

As you’ll learn in the recent video below (May, 2026 update following my visit to the project) Williams and his team are set to ramp up exploration over the balance of 2026 in five areas, targeting everything from past dump material, to at least one at-surface new open pit target to—drum roll, please!—the deepest area of past underground mining.

AND as I also recount in that video, witnessing what was left behind underground was mind-blowing; and only the second time in all my various such visits that I have EVER seen something like this!

Inevitably, I see North Peak and Prospect Mountain getting their due: whether via their own work in advancing this long-mothballed story, and/or at some point getting scooped up by one of their neighbors.
